Sonos Roam – the manufacturer’s smallest speaker is now available in three new colors: Sunset (red), Wave (blue) and Olive (green).
If you’re thinking about buying a portable Sonos speaker, you should take a look at my review of the Sonos Roam.
The small model has been on the market since spring 2021 and can be controlled both in combination with other Sonos devices and on its own via Bluetooth in the home Wi-Fi network.
In addition to a decent battery life of around 10 hours and IP67 protection against dirt and water, the speaker offers another special feature: it can be charged not only with a USB-C plug but also wirelessly via an optional magnetic stand.
Sonos Roam: Sound adjustment with movement
In contrast to the Roam SL, the normal Sonos Roam has integrated microphones for voice control.
The automatic sound adjustment also works via this: as soon as the speaker is moved, it virtually listens to itself and optimizes the sound for the respective installation location.
The sound quality is surprisingly good and clear for a speaker of this size. If you need more volume and volume, you should take a look at the comparison with the larger Sonos Move.
The only drawback in our tests is the not very intuitive switching between Bluetooth and WiFi mode.
Sonos Roam in new colors
If you want to buy the Sonos Roam, you should order the product directly from the official Sonos store. I have had very good experiences there with fast deliveries and a 100-day return policy that works very quickly and easily.
With a bit of luck, you can even buy the Roam at a significantly lower price from Sonos Refurbished.
New colors leaked before release
Even before the official announcement, the new Roam colors were published by a retailer from Spain in an email, which can also be viewed on the Reddit discussion forum.
