Buy Sonos for less: Best coupons and discounts

Sonos speakers sound good, are easy to use and also look good. The only drawback: the price.

However, there are a few little tricks you can use to buy Sonos speakers at a slightly lower price and well below the recommended retail price.

Sonos Refurbished

Similar to the Amazon Warehouse Deals, Sonos offers its own program with refurbished speakers. Used models are extensively tested and resold.

However, my test experience shows that the devices are indistinguishable from new. As with new goods, there is a two-year warranty, free shipping and returns as well as the option of financing.

Sonos student discount

The UniDays portal has been offering a 15% discount on Sonos products for students for years. However, the discount does not apply to amounts over 1,000 euros and not to new products, limited or special editions or refurbished products.

If you are not a student and therefore do not have access to UniDays, you may know someone who does not want to use the discount code.

Upgrade program from Sonos

Sonos has been offering the so-called upgrade or trade-up program for some time now: Owners of older devices receive a discount voucher to buy new models directly from Sonos.

For a Sonos One (Gen1), for example, there is a 15 percent voucher, for a Play:5 (Gen1) even a 30 percent discount.

Originally, the old devices were to be sent in return or rendered unusable via software. After much protest, however, this regulation was withdrawn and the old speakers may be kept and continue to be used.

Theoretically, you could even sell the old Sonos speakers on eBay. However, the new owner will then no longer be able to use the Trade Up program.

In some cases, it can even be worth buying very cheap, used devices on eBay in order to receive a 30 percent voucher.

Sonos at IKEA

The Swedish furniture store has been cooperating with Sonos for a number of years and jointly sells its own products such as the SYMFONISK shelf speaker, which is now also available as a picture frame with an integrated speaker.

Even if you can argue passionately about sound, the shelf speaker from IKEA doesn’t sound any better or worse than a Sonos One in my opinion. But the price of 99 euros is significantly cheaper.

All IKEA speakers can be integrated into the Sonos system just like the normal products.

Sonos at Amazon Warehouse Deals

The shipping giant Amazon not only buys a lot, but also returns a lot. These returns are then checked and, in the case of minor defects, sold at a lower price as so-called warehouse deals.

These offers are sometimes up to 30 percent cheaper and come with a full warranty. Defects are documented in detail, often only the packaging is damaged or there are barely visible scratches.

In recent months, however, the selection of SONOS returns has become much thinner. You can find these special offers on Amazon by searching for a product on Amazon as normal, e.g. “Sonos One”.

For example, “8 new and used items” is then displayed under the respective offers. If you click on this link, you will see a list of used products with a detailed description of their condition and the reduced price.

Sonos deals on Black Friday

Black Friday is a highlight for bargain hunters every year. We are usually inundated with discounts on electronics during these days – Sonos is a little more cautious.

In recent years , there have always been smaller discounts on Black Friday. Either directly in the Sonos store or from other providers such as Media Markt, OTTO or Saturn. However, there have rarely been any really good and big deals.
