Looking for the perfect gift for musicians or guitarists? Then the Jack Rack II key rack from Marshall could be just the thing.
It looks like a classic Marshall amplifier, but is actually a small key holder.
The keys are plugged into the sockets with real jack plugs (which even bear the Marshall logo) – just like the original.
I have tested the key rack and report on my experiences.
Attaching the Marshall key holder
The key holder comes well packed in a cardboard box with the Marhall logo and the inscription “Jack Rack II”.
The box is made of sturdy PVC and has a panel on the back that can be slid open to the side.
You can attach this plate to the wall with the four screws supplied and simply slide the amplifier onto it at the end. In my test, this system held well and securely.
Screw or glue?
In addition to the screws, there were also four double-sided adhesive pads, which can presumably be used to stick the key rack to smooth surfaces. Will it really hold well?
Marshall logo on textile covering
What I particularly like is that the covering on the front behind the white Marshall logo is made of textile, just like on a real amplifier.
This not only looks high quality but also feels good.
Genuine guitar plug with logo
The four key holders are in a separate bag: real 6.3 mm jack plugs that have a rubber ring instead of a cable, to which a key ring is attached.
A fine detail: the jack plugs are engraved with the famous M from the Marshall logo.
So this potential gift has two advantages: A cool key holder and four key rings that show immediately and everywhere on the key ring that a musician is on the move here.
If you plug the jack plugs into the sockets with a key, you get the same feel and the same sound as with a real amplifier: full and with some resistance.
My conclusion: A funny and useful gift for musicians, guitarists and loudspeaker fans that is an absolute eye-catcher in any home.
Another gift idea is a small Bluetooth speaker with rechargeable battery from Marshall, the so-called Emberton.
